The UCLA Swim and Dive team has had many successes in 2024, including three athletes attending the Paris 2024 Olympics. For the Bruins, there are several new updates to the coaching staff, including Olympian and Assistant Coach UCLA Tom Daley, and new Assistant Coach UCLA, Zac Gebhardt. UCLA fountain
There are several UCLA fountains on campus, a few with particular importance to the Bruin community. The Shapiro Fountain, Inverted Fountain, Medical Plaza Fountain and Macgowan Fountain are the four fountains on campus. UCLA Janss Steps
A history of the steps’ name
UCLA Janss Steps, formally known as Tongva Steps, are the famous 87-step stairs located in the heart of campus. The steps connect the Wilson Plaza area to the Dickson Plaza area, where Royce Hall, Powell Library and the other two original buildings of UCLA are located.
Fashion week
At UCLA, where students express their style both on campus and through clubs such as Fashion and Student Trends (FAST), the excitement for fashion week is undeniable. FAST was UCLA’s first fashion club, founded in 2001.
Westwood LA
Westwood LA, also referred to as Westwood Village or simply Westwood, is a neighborhood in Los Angeles. It is also home to the UCLA campus, a wide selection of restaurants, shopping and more.
UCLA The Den
UCLA The Den is the student section made up of current UCLA student fans who enthusiastically support UCLA Athletics. UCLA students can join The Den by purchasing a Den Pass, or by applying for one of their positions within the club.

UCLA dunks are a type of Nike shoe that are available for purchase at the UCLA Store, located on B-level in Ackerman Union.

UCLA basketball head coach
Mick Cronin is the UCLA Basketball head coach for the men’s team, officially titled the Michael Price Family UCLA Men’s Head Basketball coach. For the women’s team, the UCLA Basketball head coach is Cori Close, officially titled The Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball coach.
Westside Pavilion
From a shopping mall to a university research center
On Jan. 3, 2024, UCLA Newsroom announced that UCLA was set to transform the Westside Pavilion Mall into the UCLA Research Park as a part of the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan to help strengthen the university's ties to the city. Former UCLA Chancellor Gene Block issued an announcement further endorsing the plans to expand UCLA, including other projects like the South Bay campus.
