Filipino American History Month

October is Filipino American History Month (FAHM), commemorating the first recorded presence of Filipinos in America in October 1587. According to the Filipino American National History Society, the month raises awareness of Filipinos' significant roles in American history. FAHM was established in 1992; and in 2009 under President Barack Obama, October was officially declared Filipino American History Month by the United States Congress.

ASUCLA contacted a handful of Filipino clubs on campus for FAHM. The following information was provided by those who have responded by publication date; however, this is a partial list of Filipino clubs, organizations and communities at UCLA.
