Most popular university in the country
If UCLA was a high school trope, it would be the most popular kid in school. According to the UCLA Academic Planning and Budget website, UCLA remains the most applied-to four-year university in the nation. For Fall 2023, UCLA received 170,047 applications: 145,910 were from prospective freshmen and 24,137 were from prospective transfers. That’s three full football stadiums of people who want to come to UCLA!

All we do is win, win, win no matter what
Queen must’ve written “We are the Champions” about UCLA because of all the wins the Bruin athletic teams keep taking! According to UCLA Athletics, UCLA won two NCAA titles in the 2022-2023 season for women's soccer and men's volleyball, bringing UCLA’s total NCAA titles up to 121, the second-most in the NCAA.
Bruin teams also took home five regular season conference titles (men's basketball, gymnastics, men's volleyball, beach volleyball and softball) and two conference tournament championships (men's volleyball and beach volleyball). If the Bruins had a favorite chore, it would be sweeping.

UCLA’s top artists 2023
UCLA has undoubtedly got talent — just look at the 2023 Spring Sing competition lineup! From amazing solo acts like Dakota Dry and Oliver Strachan to a cappella groups like Deviant Voices and Scattertones, bands like Lot 3 and SWADE to dance groups like Icarus, the Spring Sing contestants make up just a fraction of the musicians and dancers at UCLA. The top artist of the night was Samahang Modern, winning both the Judges Choice Award and Bruin Choice Award.
Also, shoutout to the amazing visual artists at UCLA! ASUCLA celebrated student art in April with its annual Arts in the Union competition, and the four winning pieces are now on display in Ackerman Union and Kerckhoff Hall. Check out the Arts in the Union winners through the link below!
Thank you for a great year, Bruins — here’s to an even better 2024!
