UCLA classic dorms

An introduction to UCLA classic dorms

The UCLA classic dorms are co-ed, high-rise residence halls. There are four classic residence halls: Dykstra Hall, Hedrick Hall, Rieber Hall and Sproul Hall.

For more information about UCLA classic dorms, visit the UCLA Housing page on classic residence halls through the link below.

Most rooms in the UCLA classic dorms are triples while the remaining rooms are doubles. Dykstra Hall also has a limited number of single rooms. The layout of the triple and double classic dorm rooms are available through the button above and a virtual 3D tour of a classic triple is available through the link below.

The classic residence halls are the most affordable student housing at UCLA. According to UCLA Housing, contract rates for classic dorms start at $13,233.12 for a full academic year. The price of the contract rate varies depending on whether the student will live in a triple, double or single dorm, and which meal plan a student chooses.

UCLA classic dorms are furnished and come with basic cable TV service and computer network connections. Each floor has community restrooms and showers, as well as study lounges where students can hang out with friends and do their homework.

Every classic dorm building also has laundry facilities and most buildings have 24-hour front desk services and a residential restaurant on the premises or nearby. As an on-campus resident, all mail will be delivered to the Housing Mail Center located in Delta Terrace at Sunset Village. Students will be notified by email if they receive any mail so that they can retrieve it.

Classic dorms are just one of the four kinds of on-campus housing provided by UCLA Housing. The three other dorm types are called plaza, deluxe and suite. UCLA Housing also offers off-campus apartments for students. To explore all the university housing options, visit the UCLA Housing site through the button below.
