Rooms and amenities at Hedrick Hall

Hedrick Hall UCLA is one of the four original residence halls: Dykstra, Hedrick, Rieber and Sproul Hall. These buildings are also known as classic residence halls at UCLA.

Students who live in the classic residence halls typically live in triple dorm rooms, though some live in double rooms. The rooms are all furnished and wired for internet and Cable TV. Each floor has separate community restrooms and showers for male and female residents. There are also student lounges and study rooms for every floor.

Residents of Hedrick Hall UCLA have access to a laundry room and 24-hour front desk services on the first floor for all dorming needs.

Students who are planning to live in Hedrick Hall may indicate their preference in their housing application. Housing assignments are made based on the highest preference available, so there is a high chance that students who list Hedrick Hall as their top choice will be assigned a room in the dorm building. The dorm is not limited to first year students; students of every year may be assigned to a room in Hedrick Hall.

First floor study rooms and music rooms

Hedrick Hall has six study rooms on its first floor available for reservation. Each study room comes with a whiteboard and accommodates up to five people.

There are also two music rooms in Hedrick Hall where students can play the piano or bring their own instruments to practice sheet music or jam out. Since the music rooms are on the first floor where there are no dorm rooms, the noise will not bother students living in the hall.

The Hedrick study rooms and music rooms are available for all UCLA students to reserve at no cost through UCLA Residential Life; all anyone needs to access Hedrick Hall is a BruinCard.

Residential restaurant at Hedrick Hall

Students living at Hedrick Hall can easily grab a meal from The Study at Hedrick, a residential restaurant right on the premises of Hedrick Hall. Commonly abbreviated as “The Study,” this European-style artisanal bakery café is popular for its coffee, desserts, and craft-your-own sandwiches, salads and pizzas. The Study also has a unique seating area: a glass-encased study room affectionately nicknamed “the Fishbowl” sits in the middle of the dining area. Read more about The Study through the link below.
