UCLA Student Union kicks 2022-2023 year off strong with student-centered programming, services, spaces

After two years of remote and hybrid models of instruction, the UCLA Student Union is once again commencing the fall quarter with free, in-person programming for students to enjoy.

Los Angeles, Calif., Oct. 4 2022 – For the first in-person fall quarter at UCLA since 2019, UCLA Student Union operations are returning full-force to reimagine essential in-person resources, services and much-needed programming for the benefit of students.

Two students enjoying Wellness Wednesday arts and crafts

The Student Union holds weekly Wellness Wednesday activities for students to partake in arts and crafts, pain n’ sips and more.

The Student Union, a division of Associated Students UCLA, provides a number of resources for students, including spaces for Bruins to relax, study or convene; essential services like the Post Office Express, BruinPrint kiosks and the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center; and engaging programming for students to destress with Wellness Wednesdays, game watch parties, collaborative activities and more. As the academic year is now underway, the Student Union is thrilled to once again launch its yearly in-person programming in the fall and engage with students for a true Bruin experience.

“I encourage all UCLA students to invite some friends and see what programs and services the Student Union has to offer,” Patricia Solomon, Student Union Operations director, said. “From our weekly Wellness Wednesdays to Campus Events Commission movie nights and other activities, programs are free to students who participate.”

Kicking off the quarter in September, Arts in the Union made its comeback to showcase the musical talents UCLA students possess, immersing spaces around Kerckhoff Hall and Ackerman Student Union with resonating melodic lines and harmonious tunes. Held on Sept. 20, this year’s event saw over 500 participants — an incredibly impressive turnout after a two-year hiatus.
