Back to school season
School is officially back in full swing. Congratulations on surviving week one of the 2024-2025 UCLA school year, Bruins! With the return of students, campus is buzzing with fun events and amazing opportunities.
True Bruin Welcome Week
Week zero started the school year off strong. On Sept. 22, thousands of students flooded the Westwood Village Block Party to enjoy a night of theme park rides, delicious food from local restaurants, free gear and more.
The following day, festivities did not slow down. On Sept. 23, Doechii gave an exciting performance at Bruin Bash, after amazing openers, 310babii and Thuy. To flashback to all the amazing events during welcome week, click here!
Athletics
Fall quarter brings the excitement of fall sports, including football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and men’s water polo. UCLA Football had their first home game of the school year against Oregon; despite the loss, the final score being 34-13, student turn-out was strong. Looking ahead
This October, get excited for more festive events. Beware of the spooky season as Halloween is fast approaching. Up by the dorms, The Hill is hosting its annual Haunted Hill, featuring a haunted house and a variety of Halloween-themed activities. Plus, on Oct. 14, ASUCLA is hosting their 12th annual ASUCLA T-Shirt Contest, with an opportunity to submit a design that could be selected and sold in the UCLA Store; winners also receive a $1,000 UCLA Store gift card.
Finally, don’t forget to get tickets for UCLA's second home football game of the season on Oct. 12, where the Bruins will face off against Minnesota. Bruins interested in getting active themselves can explore UCLA Intramural Sports (deadline to register is Oct. 8 at midnight), a chance to play competitive recreational sports such as kickball, flag football and more.
