UCLA registrar

The one-stop shop for academic information

The UCLA registrar would have been a great tool for me as an incoming freshman, if I had known to look for it.

I started UCLA online in fall 2020, and although my new student advisor must have mentioned the UCLA registrar at some point during orientation, I completely missed the memo. I stressed myself out trying to figure out which classes to take, when my enrollment period was and when payments were due. The night before my enrollment period, I had a nightmare that the classes I wanted were filling up quickly, but I couldn’t find where to enroll, so I helplessly watched as the number of spots in the classes ticked down to zero.

Looking back on it all, my biggest stressor as an incoming freshman was that I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I was constantly scared that I was missing something important which would trip me up when I least expected it and that this unforeseen obstacle would somehow ruin my college experience before it even started.

The UCLA registrar would have helped ease my anxieties; it consolidates all the information students need about classes, enrollment, payment and schedules in one place and presents it in a comprehensive manner. If I think I don’t know something, I can hop on the website and find the information I’m looking for with ease.

The UCLA registrar is there to give students a smoother experience by providing the most relevant information on academics in one place. When you become familiar with the content of the registrar’s page, it’s less likely something will come up and catch you off guard when you’re choosing classes, enrolling, making payments and planning trips during the school year. Speaking from experience: the more prepared you are, the less stressed you will be.
