How to navigate the UCLA directory

The UCLA directory is the database where Bruins can search for the contact information of any person or department affiliated with UCLA. Navigate through the UCLA directory by using the button below.

There are two sub-directories: the UCLA People Directory, which contains listings for individuals associated with UCLA, and the UCLA Department Directory, which has listings for UCLA organizations.

UCLA People Directory

The UCLA People Directory directory contains listings for UCLA faculty, staff and students who opted to have their contact information listed. Each individual’s listing includes their name, telephone number, address and email address. For faculty and staff, position title, department, admin code, mail code and (when available) URL and pagers will also be searchable.

To find a person, perform a basic search by using the individual’s name or perform an advanced search based on any of the listed information except for fax number. 

For example, Professor Joe Bruin’s email is easily accessible but his phone number is needed, search “Joe Bruin” using basic search, or pull up the advanced search bar and enter his email into the email field. Either way, Professor Joe Bruin’s listing will pop up in the results.

Directory for department

The UCLA Department Directory contains information on all organizations within the UCLA community: academic departments, administrative units, student organizations and the medical enterprise. Information is organized by department, with all offices and subdivisions located under the parent department. 

Search for a department by name in basic search, or find the department using a building name or a keyword by performing an Advanced Search. Make sure to hit the “Department Search'' button as the search bar is set to the People Directory by default. 

As an example, if someone needed to contact the undergraduate advisor for the UCLA Communication Department, they would first find the department by searching “communication” in basic search. Under the communication department tab, the listing for the undergraduate advisor and the corresponding phone number is available. Click on the underlined “undergraduate advisor” option to prompt a pop-up with more contact information, including email address and department address.
