UCLA Commencement checklist

With the end of the school year fast approaching, it is a crucial time for seniors and anyone planning to attend a commencement ceremony to make sure everything is in order. To help everyone get ready for graduation, ASUCLA has put together a short commencement checklist.

Disclaimer: this checklist is not meant to be an exhaustive list of actions to take before commencement; rather, graduating Bruins and their loved ones should use this blog post as a starting point for their own to-do list.

Keep an eye out for commencement tickets

According to the UCLA Commencement website, all commencement tickets will be delivered from late May to early June. Graduating students will receive their tickets in the email account registered in MyUCLA.

Since it’s week nine of spring quarter, the period for requesting tickets for the college and the department ceremonies has already closed. Students who have requested additional tickets will find out how many extra tickets are available this Tuesday, May 28.

Make a plan to get to commencement on time

Since so many people come to campus to attend commencement, expect heavy traffic and scarce parking. Graduating students and their guests should plan to be on campus at least an hour before the event’s official start time.
Get the graduation gear ready

All graduation regalia is available for purchase online through the UCLA Store, or in-person at Graduation Etc. in Ackerman Union, Level A. Many Bruins also opt to customize their caps and sashes; a convenient way to do so is through Bruin Custom Print.
