Tips for Finals Week

Three female presenting students study together on a wooden table. The one in the middle has her head in her hands, exasperated. The other two look at the computer in front of them. There are also notebooks, a mug and a phone on the table.

Finals week is coming up, and for new Bruins, it’ll be their first finals week at UCLA! As a seasoned fourth year undergrad, I have some recommendations for places to study and stress relief events to attend that will help newer Bruins with navigating finals week.

Places to study

One study space to check out is the Kerckhoff Hall Second and Third Floor Study Lounges. I like this place because of its cozy atmosphere and close proximity to Kerckhoff Coffeehouse, so you can take a quick study break and get yourself a cup of coffee and a pastry. If you get lucky, you can even snag one of the massage chairs on the third floor.

I wrote another blog about study spaces, so if you want more recommendations, click on the link below!

Stress relief events

Studying is important, but so is mental health! I highly recommend checking out some of the stress relief events scheduled for the next two weeks. There’s Books & Barks at the UCLA BookZone, which runs form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 5. At this event, students can de-stress with therapy dogs and enjoy free snacks and 20% off select BookZone items.

Another stress reliever to look out for is ASUCLA’s “Test Supplies & Snacks for Final Week” event. On Monday, Dec. 11, ASUCLA will be giving away free scantrons, blue books, pens and pencils in the Bruin Fun Zone. You can also enjoy coffee and other snacks and play some games of ping pong, Jenga, Connect Four or foosball if you have the time.

Keep an eye out for information about other stress relief events like Holiday ornament painting, yoga and an Elf movie night by following @asucla on Instagram.

Good luck with finals, Bruins!
