Get pumped for the UCLA vs. USC football game!

The Bruin bear statue may be hibernating in its protective foil covering, but the rest of UCLA campus is coming alive in anticipation for the UCLA vs. USC football game. Throughout the week, there will be events like the Beat ‘SC Rally and the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Blood Bowl hyping Bruins up for the big game.

Beat ‘SC Rally (Nov. 15) *as of Nov. 13, this event has been postponed to a TBD date

According to the Beat ‘SC Rally page on the UCLA Alumni website, the Beat ‘SC Rally is one of the largest outdoor gatherings on the UCLA campus. There are two parts to the event: the tailgate and the rally.

The tailgate will be held at Wilson Plaza, where guests will be able to enjoy music, games and activities. Guests can also eat at a wide variety of food trucks and get free items at giveaways from C4, Liquid IV and Universal Studios. According to the Beat ‘SC Rally page, the first 100 students in attendance will also receive a Beat ’SC Rally T-shirt, so line up early if you’re interested!

The rally will start with a performance from the UCLA Spirit Squad and Marching Band, followed by a speech from Coach Chip Kelly and the UCLA football team stirring up the Blue and Gold spirit for the game on Saturday. Finally, there will be a dance party and light show for Bruins to let loose and celebrate UCLA football.

ROTC Blood Bowl (Nov. 17)

The ROTC Blood Bowl is an annual football game played between the UCLA Naval ROTC (NROTC) and the USC NROTC the day before the UCLA vs. USC football game. 

The Blood Bowl tradition dates back to 1985. This year’s Blood Bowl will take place on the USC campus, as the campus hosting the official football game also hosts the Blood Bowl. According to superstition, the winner of the Blood Bowl will also win the game the next day.

UCLA vs. USC football game (Nov. 18)

This is the main event! Whether you’re going to the game in person at the Los Angeles Coliseum or watching from home, the UCLA vs. USC football game is one of the biggest sports events for the Bruins. After a narrow loss of 48–45 to USC in 2022, the Bruins are ready for redemption. 

The UCLA vs. USC football game will air nationally on FOX and stream live on the FOX sports app. ASUCLA is also hosting a watch party in Ackerman Grand Ballroom, so if you want to watch the game and enjoy some free food and drinks with your fellow Bruins, come by and check it out! The time of the watch party will be announced once the UCLA vs. USC football game time is available, so keep an eye out for more information.
