USC dirt

Bruins, while we promote great sportsmanship, with a rivalry like UCLA vs USC, it’s important we have quick comebacks to their lazy chants. Here are a few comments you can make in passing to a Trojan, a chant you can start in the game or a potential poster idea.

  • University of Spoiled Children (U.S.C.)

  • Daddy’s money

  • UCLA rejects

  • Beat U$C

  • My favorite team is UCLA…and whoever’s playing USC

  • You can’t spell SUCK without USC

The crosstown rivalry

The first UCLA vs USC football game was Sept. 28, 1929, marking the start of the crosstown rivalry. Every year leading up to the big game, students from each school attempt to vandalize the other school’s mascot statue. Therefore, UCLA and USC wrap their statues weeks in advance to protect them from the other university students. At UCLA, expect to see the Bruin bear safely hidden by a large wooden box a few weeks before the match-up.

Since 1929, the Bruins have had 34 wins and 52 losses overall against USC. Last year, during the 2023-2024 season, the crosstown rivalry was held at the Coliseum, USC’s home stadium. Despite the away game disadvantage, UCLA Football secured the win, with the final score of 38-20 UCLA. Let’s continue the win streak this 2024 football season by having the most spirited fan section.
