Spring is in full bloom, and with that comes renewal and regrowth! Spring also brings the arrival of new admissions at UCLA! With many new changes during this time of year, what better way to celebrate than by reminiscing about other Bruins’ admission stories in spring!
With spring also comes admissions decisions! No admission story looks the same. The following are a few Bruins who reflect on the moment they decided to go to UCLA several springtimes ago!

Hall Rubenstein
Rubenstein, a fourth-year communications student, knew UCLA was a competitive school and that it may have been more of a challenge as an out-of-state applicant; however, “I had been excited to get into other schools, but when I saw the [acceptance message] that says I got in, I was literally screaming,” Rubenstein said. After receiving his acceptance letter, Rubenstein recalls knowing he was going to go to UCLA right away, as it's “easily the best school,” he said.

Seip, a history student, notes how going to UCLA was always a dream of his since childhood. Before transferring, Isaac played two years of college volleyball at two different schools, though it was not the best environment before coming to UCLA, Isaac adds.
“I never lost sight of my goal of becoming a Bruin, and after almost two quarters here as a transfer student the sense of community and everything about this school makes me feel great knowing I made the right choice,” Seip said. “I also am continuing my volleyball journey on the club beach team which is amazing, and I am looking forward to the rest of my time here in Westwood!”
From a graduate student’s perspective
Louise Liu
Liu is a second-year Master of Fine Arts (MFA) grad student in the Theater Film and Television (TFT) Animation major at UCLA and an ASUCLA Marketing employee. Louise describes the admissions process with its ups and downs while pursuing 2D animation, coming with its own limitations.
“What made the wait even harder was that my UCLA offer came later than expected, around late June to early July, after receiving two rejection letters from similar programs,” adds Liu. “It really shook my confidence for my work, and the waiting period felt tough. But in the end, that patience and my effort in the past paid off. Getting into UCLA’s program was incredibly rewarding. I really like the curriculum and the friendly, helpful creative environment that I will definitely miss when I graduate.”
Wishing all the new Bruins welcome to UCLA! Go Bruins!
