Celebrating our Mom-umental Bruin Moms

Happy Mother’s Day, Bruins! This week, we’re celebrating all the incredible Bruin moms and mother figures who have made us who we are today. Whether you’re a student mom, a mom who graduated from UCLA or the proud mother of a UCLA student, we thank you for all the love and support you bring to the UCLA community.

If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Mother’s Day, we’ve got some ideas for you. Continue reading below for a list of great Mother’s Day activities around UCLA.

The Getty and the Getty Villa are perfect places to go if your mom likes museums. Both museums have impressive collections of art and beautiful gardens. Admission is free, but you still need a ticket to get in, so remember to book a ticket through The Getty’s website.

Downtown Santa Monica has a little bit of everything: the beach is close by, so you can relax by the waves; go window-shopping through the shops on 3rd Street Promenade; and grab something nice to eat at one of the many restaurants in the area.

If you don’t want to leave campus, there’s still plenty to do at UCLA. Take your mom to see the turtles in the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden, have a picnic at the Sculpture Garden or Tongva Steps (formerly known as Janss Steps) or chat it up over a cup of Joe at Kerckhoff Coffeehouse.

No matter what you end up doing for Mother’s Day, we hope you have a great day celebrating the moms and mother figures in your life!
