Peter Poon hired as UCLA Store director

Joining ASUCLA on July 18, the former UC San Diego Bookstore director brings over 20 years of in-store and retail operation experience to his role as the UCLA Store director. 

Los Angeles, Calif., July 21, 2022 – Following the retirement of Patrick Healey, Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) is pleased to announce Peter Poon will fill the role as director of the UCLA Store. 

Beginning his role on July 18, Poon comes to the ASUCLA family with over 20 years of experience of in-store and retail operations. The former UC San Diego Bookstore director for two-and-a-half years, Poon has also served as the store manager for two Cal State Long Beach retail stores in 2019: the Art Store and the Beach on Second Street.

Now in his official capacity as the UCLA Store director, Poon will oversee retail operations at all UCLA Store locations, covering merchandising, academic support services and distribution.

“I am excited to serve as the new UCLA Store director,” Poon said. “In this role, I plan on working with the ASUCLA team to promote student success, strengthen campus and vendor partnerships, and expand the Bruin brand to local and retail markets.”
