Los Angeles, Calif., July 22, 2024 – A Bruin-themed café experience is extending the UCLA brand to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris to cheer on Bruin athletes going for the gold this summer. Joining the lively number of UCLA alumni and fans overseas on July 25, Café UCLA is additionally bridging the 2024 games to the university’s home in Los Angeles for LA28.

Hosted by award-winning Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA), the popular Paris coffee shop, Café Fleurus, will be transformed into a UCLA-centric hub on July 25 to host Bruins in Western Europe who are interested in learning more about LA28, enjoying a coffee and sharing in the rising UCLA brand affinity while in Paris.

“Bruins past, present and future strive to best reflect the Olympic values of excellence, respect and friendship, and practice the Paralympics values of determination, inspiration, courage and equality in everything that we do,” said Pouria Abbassi, ASUCLA executive director and CEO. “It is our honor to bring a bit of home to our global community gathering for the Olympics.”

UCLA Head Coaches Cori Close from Women’s Basketball and Jenny Johnson Jordan who leads Beach Volleyball will be present at Café UCLA as part of a panel. They will discuss UCLA’s esteemed athletic history as it relates to the Olympics and Paralympic Games and how the transition to LA28 can best be positioned as a supportive, welcoming environment for future Olympians.
