ASUCLA Student Speaker Series to Address Basic Needs and Campus Resources in Latest Event
Westwood, Calif. – Jan. 27, 2020 – ASUCLA student employees are invited to learn more about the resources available to them through the organization by attending the ASUCLA Student Speaker Series on Tuesday, Jan. 28. The speaker series will take place in the Bruin Reception Room of Ackerman Union and while it is geared towards student employees, all members of the ASUCLA community are welcome to attend.
Career employees from the Community Programs Office, Food Pantry, Counseling and Psychological Services, and LBGTQ Center will be speaking at the event and providing awareness to ASUCLA student employees about the many resources available to them on campus. At the end of the presentations, there will be an extensive Q&A session for the students to learn more about these services.
The ASUCLA Student Speaker Series will be held in the Bruin Reception Room in Ackerman Union at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 28.
“ASUCLA is proud to work with students that are so engaged with what’s happening on campus, and we strive to provide them with the resources needed to get the most out of their experience working with ASUCLA,” said Kelly Goodman, ASUCLA Campus Outreach Manager. “With this speaker series and others, we have the opportunity to not only make students more aware of what services are available on campus but to also learn more from our students about what is important to them.”
This is the second speaker series ASUCLA has hosted that benefits student employees. The first, Women in Tech, took place in November and gave female students who work in the Computer Store and IT department the opportunity to speak with and learn from professional staff in those areas. The next ASUCLA Speaker Series will take place in the spring, and will cover career stepping stones such as resume building, internships, networking and beyond.
