Women’s History Month: highlighting UCLA’s women-centered organizations and programming
Happy Women’s History Month, Bruins! This month, we’re celebrating the women who made history and shape our future. At UCLA, student run organizations empower women and research centers advance understandings of women’s issues year-round, while special events in March provide opportunities to learn more about women’s history and experiences.

Latinas Guiding Latinas
Latinas Guiding Latinas (LGL) is a student organization that provides resources and mentorship to underfunded public schools in East LA, inspiring the next generation of Latina girls.
LGL meets every Monday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Royce Hall Room 150. For those interested in helping out at school sites or keeping up with LGL’s work, follow @latinas_guiding_latinas on Instagram or check out the LGL website linked below.
UCLA Center for the Study of Women|Streisand Center
The UCLA Center for the Study of Women|Streisand Center (CSW|Streisand Center) is a center for research on gender, sexuality, and women’s issues. A great way to keep up with the center’s work is through the conferences, seminars and public lectures it organizes throughout the year. Check out the center’s upcoming events through the link below.
UCLA Alumni Center
To learn about women’s history and issues, stop by one of the UCLA Alumni Center’s events lined up for Women’s History Month. Events include a talk about iconic blues women who have been lost to history and a panel about women in the transportation industry.
