UCLA dorm
The UCLA dorm area, also referred to as the Hill, is residential on-campus living for students and faculty. There are four types of UCLA dorms students can choose: classic, plaza, deluxe and suite. Each UCLA dorm building adopts one of these four styles. A classic room and residence hall is the most basic dorm experience. Classics are high-rise buildings with communal bathrooms, no air conditioning (AC), study lounges on every floor and a centralized laundry room. Classics are known to be smaller but are the most affordable dorm on the Hill. There are four classic dorm buildings: Dykstra, Rieber, Hedrick and Sproul Hall. Deluxe buildings are almost identical to classics; residents also have access to study lounges on each floor, communal bathrooms and a laundry room on the ground floor. However, the deluxe rooms have AC. The deluxe buildings are Sproul Cove and Sproul Landing (Sproul area), Holly and Gardenia (De Neve area), Olympic and Centennial. Plaza residence halls provide more privacy and space than the classic or deluxe style dorms. These rooms have AC, a private or shared bathroom, study lounges and a centralized laundry room. Some plaza buildings, such as De Neve Plaza and buildings in Sunset Village, have courtyards and grass lawns to relax. To read more about the plazas, click the button below.
The suites, Hitch and Saxon, are the most different from the other dorm buildings on the Hill. These areas are complexes of smaller buildings with outside entrances to each unit. Each room has a shared bathroom and living room. However, there is no AC. In addition, there are community study spaces and laundry rooms. To look into suites at UCLA, click the button below.
