UCLA WBB

The UCLA Women’s Basketball team, also known as UCLA WBB, started the 2024-2025 season in November 2024, which will then end in March 2025. In 2024-2025, UCLA WBB will see new additions to the coaching staff and an international start to the season, amongst other adjustments, such as their move to the Big Ten league. Schedules

A UCLA Athletics newspage notes that the UCLA Bruins on the women’s team opened the new season in Paris, France, the first international opening game for the team. This overseas game was part of the opening day doubleheader Aflac Oui-Play event, against the University of Louisville. 

The game was held at the Adidas Arena in France with the UCLA WBB team winning 66-59. To read more on this strong start for the women’s team, click the UCLA Athletics link below. 

This upcoming season UCLA Women’s Basketball is set for multiple Big Ten conference games and schedules. The last game is the post-season 2025 Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA) Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana from March 5-9.

The schedule for the UCLA WBB team starts with the Aflac Oui-Play game and is followed by several home games. The rest of the season includes the Rainbow Wahine Showdown, Invisalign Bay Area Women’s Classic, Coretta Scott King Classic, Big Ten games, the 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women’s Basketball Tournament and more. Athletes and staff 

Apart from the schedule, there are new additions to the staff and basketball teams. For the full roster, click the link below.

The coaching staff consists of Cori Close, the Michael Price Family UCLA Women’s Basketball head coach, accompanied by Shannon LeBeauf, associate head coach. There are also four assistant coaches on the team, including Tasha Brown, Tony Newnan, Soh Matsuura and James Clark. Clark is the newest addition to the staff, as of Oct. 17, 2024. The support staff consists of Pam Walker, director of operations; Caren Nicdao, director of creative content; Alex Edge, executive assistant to women’s basketball; Ash Samaniego director of women’s basketball athletic performance; Alexa Blatt, associate athletic trainer; and Delaney Smith, performance dietitian.
