UCLA Textbooks

All of the ways to gain access to UCLA materials

UCLA textbooks can be found at the UCLA Store location in Ackerman Union and online. An enterprise of the Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA), the UCLA Store not only offers licensed merchandise, such as BearWear, but also textbooks and books for Bruins. Located on Level A of Ackerman Union, UCLA Store Textbooks is the stop to purchase necessary course materials for UCLA students. To shop textbooks at the UCLA Store online, please follow the link below.

The UCLA Textbooks area of the UCLA Store is split into two sections: books for leisure reading are on the left side and required course materials are organized in the back right section of the store. According to the store signs, the course materials are shelved by alphabetical order according to the author's name. In addition, students can pick up their online textbook order in the store via the pick-up window. Contact information and various departments can be found through this link.

The UCLA Store website has a “Find My Textbook” feature that assists students in their search for any needed materials by school, term, department, catalog number and section number for the class. The store website also links online UCLA textbooks through its partnership with VitalSource and Redshelf eBooks

Not only can students access UCLA textbooks in person and through a partnered online site, UCLA provides textbooks through Inclusive Access. Inclusive Access allows UCLA students to access their physical course materials in digital, often interactive, format on day one of classes. Most importantly, Inclusive Access provides these digital materials at a more affordable price than traditional physical copies of textbooks.

Inclusive Access works efficiently for students: an email is sent out to students through the UCLA Registrar on easy, free access to course materials before classes begin. Once they receive the email, students can decide whether they want to opt out of Inclusive Access and purchase course material through their own means. Bruins can leave the Inclusive Access materials on file and receive a UCLA Store charge to their BruinBill account; however, the free access for students closes after the opt out deadline: the Friday of the second week of fall, winter and spring quarters or the Friday of the first week of summer sessions.

Students can opt out through the UCLA Store course materials tool or through the Inclusive Access materials list email sent out to UCLA students. For additional assistance on opting out, please visit inclusiveaccess@asucla.ucla.edu. Or for more information please click the link below.

Coming fall 2024, UCLA will offer Bruin One Access, another way to access textbooks for UCLA at a flat rate of $129 for the whole quarter. Look out for more information on this new opportunity to purchase UCLA textbooks in the coming future.
