The new schedule, staff and team for the 2025 season

With the UCLA Softball team having started the new 2025 season on Feb. 6, there are many additions and changes to the softball staff and team at UCLA. Schedule 

According to a UCLA Athletics news webpage, the 2025 season will be the 50th anniversary of the UCLA Softball program, with over 50 games currently listed in 2025 and over 20 home contests at the Easton Stadium in Los Angeles. To continue reading the news article, click the link below. 

The UCLA Softball team’s first home game in Los Angeles, at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial, was Feb. 6 against Cal State Fullerton, noted a UCLA Athletics webpage on the 2025 schedule. The following tournaments of the season include the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational, Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic and Judi Garman Classic. To conclude the 2025 season, the Bruins will attend the Big Ten Tournament in West Lafayette, Indiana between May 7-10. For the full 2025 schedule, click the link below.

Roster

Going into the new season, the UCLA Softball team includes 23 Bruin athletes. In a recent UCLA Athletics announcement, four additional athletes were added to the 2025 signing class: Brianah Alejandre, Natalie Cable, Jolyna Lamar and Jazmine Leyva. Coaching/support staff

In the 2025 season, some adjustments and additions will be made to the coaching and support staff who help guide the UCLA team to athletic excellence, noted a UCLA Athletics webpage. Coaching alongside Kelly Inouye-Perez, the Shelly Carlin UCLA Head Softball Coach, is Lisa Fernandez, the Mark Kalmansohn UCLA associate head softball coach, as well as assistant coach Rob Schweyer. In the new season, Madilyn Nickles-Camarena joins the team as a full-time assistant coach. 

Alongside this addition, former UCLA Softball assistant and associate head coach, Kirk Walker, is now the director of Softball Administration starting in the 2025 season, as part of the support staff of the softball team at UCLA. Will Oldham, director of Player Development and Data Analytics, and Claire Donyanavard, director of Softball Operations, will work alongside Walker to further support the needs of the softball team at UCLA.
