Guiding Bruins in their careers

The UCLA Career Center helps students at UCLA build key career skills, from exploring career pathways and creating competitive resumes to interviewing skills and negotiating offers. To explore all the resources the UCLA Career Center has to offer, visit the center in person on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Strathmore Building, 501 Westwood Plaza, or visit their website through the link below.

Career advice appointments

Through the UCLA Career Center, students can schedule 30-minute appointments with a career advisor to discuss career planning, job and internship searches, or graduate and professional school applications. New appointment slots for the upcoming two weeks open every Friday.

Students can also visit the career center in person for 15-minute drop-in sessions. The career center’s drop-in hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.

Career exploration

Through the Discover Career Pathways tab at the top of the main career center website, students can read through overviews of different industries. Each page details common majors, people in the industry study, what skills are required to succeed in the industry, salary ranges, entry-level job titles and peak recruitment periods, if applicable.

The UCLA Career Center website also links students to other career exploration and self-assessment quizzes for students to find career paths that may align best with their skills and values. Explore these career resources through the link below.

Find internships and jobs

One of the top resources for students looking to build their resume is Handshake, an online platform that connects Bruins with internships, jobs and networking events. UCLA students get free access to Handshake throughout their academic career at UCLA and three months after they graduate. To access Handshake, click on the link below.
