A UCLA student holds up a UCLA Women's Basketball poster. His face is lit up with an expression of delighted surprise.

Since UCLA Women’s Basketball is playing their last home game of the season today, we are featuring the amazing athletes of the team and their amazing season.

Keep reading for more about UCLA Women’s Basketball team athletes like Charisma Osborne, Lauren Betts, Kiki Rice, Angela Dugalić and Lina Sontag.

The Bruins demonstrated the strength of their team by kicking off the season with an impressive 14-game win streak. The Women’s Basketball team also broke the single-game attendance record at UCLA; according to UCLA Athletics, 13,659 people attended UCLA’s Dec. 30, 2023 game against crosstown rival USC, hitting Pauley Pavilion’s official maximum capacity.

Highlighting some of the performances this year, graduate student Charisma Osborne has been a powerhouse for the UCLA team. As of publishing date, Osborne averages 14.9 points per game with a game-high of 32 points. She has been named UCLA student athlete of the week seven times throughout her time playing for the Bruins, and she was nominated for the 2024 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award.

Osborne is not the only athlete on the team nominated for prestigious awards; UCLA sophomores Lauren Betts and Kiki Rice have been named as John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 athletes, which makes them great candidates for the 2024 John R. Wooden Award Women's Player of the Year.

Outside of the National Collegiate Athletics Association, some of our Bruin athletes are gearing up to become Olympians. Senior Angela Dugalić played for Serbia and sophomore Lina Sontag played for Germany at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Feb. 8-11.

As the season is winding to a close, make sure to cheer on the UCLA Women’s Basketball team at their last home game. Go Bruins!
