Freshmen
The UCLA Admissions website explicitly states: “there is no specific cutoff value assigned to any of the factors (they) consider.” However, with the admittance rate falling below 10% for the first time in 2022, competition for admission is increasing and it can be helpful to know the average GPAs of admitted freshmen at UCLA.
According to the UCLA Admissions Freshman Profile page, the median weighted GPA for freshmen in 2022 was 4.58, with the 25-75th percentile of students averaging a GPA between 4.40-4.73. The median unweighted GPA for freshmen in 2022 was 4.00, with the 25-75th percentile of students maintaining a GPA between 3.95-4.00.
Please note that for the UCLA admissions process, all GPAs are calculated from courses completed in school grades 10 and 11. Further, GPA is only one factor and does not solely determine admission into UCLA; special talents, awards and accomplishments, and meaningful essays when answering the personal insight questions are also important considerations for the admissions process.
