Farmers markets near UCLA

This week is National Farmers Market Week! Luckily for Bruins living in Westwood, there are several farmers markets you can visit to celebrate: the Westwood Farmers Market, the West LA Farmers Market and the Santa Monica Farmer’ Market.

Westwood Farmers Market

Located within walking distance from campus on Broxton Avenue, the Westwood Farmers Market is open every Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. This is a great option for Bruins who are looking to support local farms and small businesses and engage in the Westwood community.

West LA Farmers Market

The West LA Farmers Market is held Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., so you can beat the heat by going in the early morning. Located next to the West Los Angeles Regional Branch Library, it’s accessible from UCLA via the Big Blue Bus line 1. On top of fresh produce, ready-to-eat food and live music, there’s also free yoga at 9:30 a.m., so bring your yoga mats!

Santa Monica Farmers Market

The Santa Monica Downtown Farmers Market is located on Arizona Avenue and it is held every Wednesday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bruins can easily take the Big Blue Bus line 2 from UCLA to the farmer’s market. After you’re done buying your produce, you can grab lunch or go shopping around Third Street Promenade, which is right next to the market.
