Best places to study during finals week

With finals week and the conclusion of another academic year approaching, trying out new or familiar places to study can help motivate students to prepare for their final exams. Keep reading for several places on campus to study during finals week.

Powell Library

Powell Library is known for its quiet individual spaces and group study rooms for students to prepare for finals. The well-known library has multiple stories to study in, including the second floor with the large open rotunda and the main reading room for an academic feel to studying.

Music Library

For another peaceful library to study in, consider the Music Library in the Schoenberg Music Building. For students who study best with nearby music playing, it is a beautiful library with open windows to study in and focus near the music hall.

Charles E. Young Research Library

For students who prefer reserving a comfortable pod with tables, chairs and a large whiteboard for a group study session, the Young Research Library (YRL) may be best.

Ackerman Union study lounges

If the libraries are full or students want a change of space, Ackerman Union has several study lounges that may be the kind of environment to facilitate productive studying or group study sessions. To see the various names and locations of study lounges, click here.

Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden

For students who want to study outdoors, the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden is a quiet area to sit in nature and study with plenty of artwork to feel inspired by.

However, if you want to study in other outdoor areas closer to the heart of campus, you can find the best spot for you on this UCLA map

Happy studying and finals week Bruins!
