ASUCLA T-shirt Contest opens student design submissions for 12th consecutive year

UCLA students can now submit their designs to the 12th annual ASUCLA T-shirt Contest, brought to you by Farmer Brothers. Winning design will be selected to be sold at the UCLA Store, beginning in 2025.

Los Angeles, Calif., Oct. 14, 2024 – It’s the start of yet another fall quarter which means another T-shirt contest where students show off their unique UCLA designs! The 12th annual Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) T-shirt Contest submissions are open until Nov. 1.

Students interested in showing off their creative and artistic ideas can submit an entry via this link for an opportunity to have their design selected and placed on an exclusive T-shirt, to be available for purchase at the UCLA Store in early 2025. In addition, the winning UCLA student will be awarded a $1,000 UCLA Store gift card.

“The annual contest allows students to show their Bruin spirit and creative talents for an opportunity to have their original design on official UCLA merchandise,” said Guy Adams, Academic Publishing and Custom Product manager.

After submissions are finalized, the Bruin community is welcome to attend the ASUCLA T-shirt Contest showcase on Nov. 13 for a chance to view the student-made artistry. Following, members of the ASUCLA Board of Directors, Undergraduate Students Association (USA) Internal Vice President and Graduate Students Association (GSA) will select the final designs to be announced on Nov. 20.

Voting will open on Dec. 2 for fellow students to select their favorite designs, to be announced on the @asucla Instagram. Once all votes are cast, the Bruin designer and winner will be announced on Dec. 11, and their design will be produced by Bruin Custom Print and sold at the UCLA Store in the winter quarter. Proceeds from the winning design will support USA and GSA.

Students who enter their submissions for the ASUCLA T-shirt Contest must be current students at UCLA. Submissions must be original work that incorporates some representation or tie to UCLA. Submissions are also limited to one entry per year. Past contest winners are ineligible for submissions.

Brought to you by Farmer Brothers, the 12th annual ASUCLA T-shirt Contest is backed by a legacy of winning designs, including last year’s hopeful design of UCLA’s blue skies and a Bruin bear succeeding amongst the clouds, created by then- second-year world arts and culture student, Katie Fang.
