ASUCLA Partners with the Ashe Center to Provide Space in Ackerman Union for COVID-19 Testing

Westwood, Calif. – Sept. 21, 2020 – As part of efforts to combat community spread of COVID-19 throughout the UCLA campus community, ASUCLA and the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center have collaborated to host a COVID-19 testing center in the Ackerman Union Grand Ballroom.

The COVID-19 test center will be open in Ackerman Union Sept. 21-22, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and again Sept. 28-29, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. During the first two days, more than 1500 students, faculty and TAs are expected to participate in asymptomatic COVID-19 testing.

“We always strive to provide venues to Bruins that enhance their on-campus experience,” said Marisa Osborne, Student Union Events Division Manager. “While we continue to adapt to changes brought on by the coronavirus, we are proud to offer our spaces to our campus partners and continue utilizing them for the benefit of the whole UCLA community.”

Testing will be done on an appointment only basis, for UCLA students who have in-person classes, some members of Greek Life, as well as faculty and TAs that are conducting on-campus classes.
