Have a picnic on campus

Put on your cutest picnic outfit, bring a blanket, grab some food and set up at your favorite grassy spot on campus! Tongva (previously Janss) Steps is a popular spot because of its central location on campus, but don’t forget to check out other prime picnic locations like the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden and Dickson Court.

Vintage television showing at the Hammer

If you’re a vintage film enthusiast or are looking for a unique date, check out the Preserving Historic Color Videotape: Mr. Television (a.k.a. Milton Berle) and Friends event at the Billy Wilder Theater, located at the Hammer Museum. By going to this event, you and your date will be able to say that you attended a world premiere screening of the preservation of the earliest known entertainment program to survive on color videotape!

Admission is free and seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to show up early. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m. and the event will start at 7:30 p.m.

Grab a sweet treat in Westwood Village

Get sweets with your sweetheart in Westwood! For ice cream lovers, a cute date idea might be trying each other’s favorite flavors at Diddy Riese. For a romantic French cafe vibe, Elyseé Bakery and Café sells beautiful pastries and cakes. And for the ultimate dessert, split a pizookie at BJ’s.
