Club Summary: Hello! APC strives to rekindle and strengthen the sense of community amongst the diverse Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) organizations at UCLA. As we celebrate the contributions of students of color, we aim to foster a unifying and collaborative space that is inclusive of all APIDA narratives, especially those that have been historically underrepresented in our coalition. We work to develop and support the next generation of APIDA student leaders in advocating for social, political, and cultural issues pertinent to our community and to stand in solidarity with other marginalized communities.

Club Summary: Bruin Democrats is the primary arm of the Democratic Party on campus. Club Name: Bruin Entrepreneurs 

Club Summary: Bruin Entrepreneurs’ mission is to provide the space, opportunities, and resources for students on all stages of the entrepreneurial journey to cultivate and develop their skills. To facilitate this journey, we host large-scale events, weekly workshops, and fireside chats with local entrepreneurs to engage the UCLA community and provide them with the knowledge necessary for an entrepreneurial mindset. Club Name: Bruin Home Solutions

Club Summary: We are a group of student engineers, scientists, designers and entrepreneurs collaborating for a better tomorrow. Here at Bruin Home Solutions (BHS), were engaging our members in a variety of hands-on sustainability initiatives to drive real change on campus. Since our founding in 2016, we’ve built hydroponic farming systems, won second place in the U.S. DoEs Solar Decathlon competition, trained well over 100 students for their LEED certification (free of charge!), and more. Today, our organization manages a total of 15 sustainability-related projects, including urban farming, electric vehicle conversion, campus audit data centralization, and experiments with styrofoam-eating mealworms.

Club Name: Campaign for 100% Clean Energy and to Get Out the Vote! (projects by CALPIRG Students)

Club Summary: The California Student Public Interest Research Group (CALPIRG Students) works with professional staff at colleges and universities to make sure our peers have the skills, opportunities and training they need to create a better, more sustainable future for all of us. Our chapters provide the training, professional support, and resources students need to tackle climate change, protect public health, revitalize our democracy, feed the hungry, and more. Students have been at the forefront of social change throughout history, from civil rights, to voting rights to protecting the environment. For over 40 years we’ve helped students to get organized, mobilized, and energized so they can continue to be on the cutting edge of positive change.

Club Summary: The Center for Diverse Leadership in Science (CDLS) is an organization that supports people developing as scientists and agents of social change, so we can bring our unique voices and perspectives to solving urgent challenges relating to science, the environment, and society. We are an anti-racist organization. We support healthy environments in higher education for STEM research and education, community partnerships, and community-building. Club Name: Effective Altruism at UCLA

Club Summary: Effective Altruism is a social movement and life ethic about making the greatest positive impact on the world, using rigorous statistical evidence, science, transparency, and reflective decision-making. EA at UCLA seeks to help students maximize their impact in this way through our Arete Fellowship, which guides fellows through an integrative curriculum to prepare them for a successful career with a positive impact on the world, and connects them with a network of accomplished peers. In addition, we regularly hold presentations/discussions on EA topics and activities like the effective careers workshop. Students of all levels and majors are welcome to join! Club Name: International Youth and Students for Social Equality

Club Summary: The IYSSE, the youth movement of the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI), fights for a socialist perspective among students and youth, as part of an international socialist movement of the entire working class.

The issues students face are inseparable from the broader questions confronting the working class. Students seeking to oppose social inequality, unemployment and war must reach out to workers throughout the country and internationally.

The IYSSE seeks to build a mass political movement of the working class that will fight for power, establish a workers government and reorganize society on a democratic, egalitarian and rational basis.

Club Name: Liberty in North Korea at UCLA  

Club Summary: We are UCLA’s Liberty in North Korea rescue team! We are dedicated to raising awareness on the North Korean human rights crisis, working together as a team to fundraise at least $3,000 in order to fund 1 person’s rescue mission through a 3,000 mile long journey. Through events during the school year as well as biweekly meetings, UCLA’s team helps to ensure that the human rights crisis brought about by North Korea’s repressive regime is a visible issue on campus.
