ASUCLA Benefits U, Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (this “Agreement”) govern “ASUCLA Benefits U.” ASUCLA Benefits U is a joint loyalty program brought to you by Associated Students UCLA (or “ASUCLA,” collectively “we,” “us,” “our,” “ours”). Use of membership in ASUCLA Benefits U (“Membership”) at any time subjects the purchaser or user (“you,” “your,” “yours,” “Member”) to the provisions of this Agreement, as amended from time to time.
Membership is restricted to regularly-enrolled undergraduate, graduate and professional students at UCLA who have paid the mandatory university and campus student fees, including University Registration Fee. Membership will be terminated if any customer does not maintain regularly-enrolled student status at UCLA.
Membership eligibility is verified with a valid BruinCard. Eligible customers may become a Member at any UCLA Store by presenting a valid BruinCard or by signing up online.
Members must provide a valid email address and agree to receive ASUCLA Benefits U emails.
There is no charge for Membership. Members may discontinue their Membership at any time. Members may renew Membership at any time.
Memberships and Membership benefits are for individual use and are non-transferable.
ASUCLA Benefits U entitles all Members to the following benefits:
- Use of coupons distributed to Members via ASUCLA Benefits U email. Coupons are subject to restrictions and exclusions as indicated on the coupons.
- Periodic special promotions at participating UCLA Store, UCLA Restaurant and UCLA Student Union locations as announced via ASUCLA Benefits U email. Promotions and events are subject to restrictions and exclusions.
- ASUCLA Benefits U Rewards.
Members will accrue Points for any eligible purchase* at participating UCLA Store locations^. Members will receive Rewards in the form of credit redeemable for the purchase of eligible items* at participating UCLA Store locations^.
Points and Rewards remain valid for one Membership period. Membership periods begin every August 1st and continue through the following June 30th. Members may accrue unlimited Points and Rewards and redeem unlimited Rewards during this period. At the end of each period, all Points and Rewards expire.
Due to a technical hurdle, Members may redeem only one Reward voucher per transaction. We are working to change this policy.
In order to accrue Points and Rewards, Members must provide a valid BruinCard or ASUCLA Benefits U Membership card at the time of purchase. No Points or Rewards will be awarded for past purchases or for purchases made without presentation of a valid BruinCard or ASUCLA Benefits U Membership card. Members may acquire a new or replacement card at any UCLA Store locations ^.
*All UCLA Store purchases are eligible except:
- Computer software
- Computer hardware
- Dental Kits
- Gift cards
- Concession items
- Items on consignment
- Items bought at shop.uclastore.com

Disclaimers; Limitation of Liability
USE OF ASUCLA BENEFITS U AND ANY OF ITS ASSOCIATED BENEFITS IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ARE PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS.
ASUCLA AND ALL OF THEIR RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS AND AGENTS (COLLECTIVELY “MEMBERSHIP PROVIDERS”) EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
MEMBERSHIP PROVIDERS MAKE NO WARRANTY THAT (i) ASUCLA BENEFITS U WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, (ii) ASUCLA BENEFITS U WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR (iii) THE QUALITY OF ANY PRODUCTS, SERVICES, INFORMATION, OR OTHER MATERIAL PURCHASED OR OBTAINED BY YOU FROM YOUR USE OF ASUCLA BENEFITS U WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
MEMBERSHIP PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES (EVEN IF MEMBERSHIP PROVIDERS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES), RESULTING FROM: (i) THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE ASUCLA BENEFITS U OR ANY BENEFITS THEREOF; (ii) THE COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS AND SERVICES RESULTING FROM ANY GOODS, DATA, INFORMATION OR SERVICES PURCHASED OR OBTAINED OR MESSAGES RECEIVED OR TRANSACTIONS ENTERED VIA THE USE OF ASUCLA BENEFITS U; (iii) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR ASUCLA BENEFITS U DATA; OR (iv) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO ASUCLA BENEFITS U.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES. ACCORDINGLY, SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
This Agreement, and the respective rights and obligations of the parties hereunder, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement (including any breach thereof) or ASUCLA shall be settled by arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules (including without limitation the Supplementary Procedures for Consumer-Related Disputes), and judgment on the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Any such controversy or claim shall be arbitrated on an individual basis and shall not be consolidated with any claim or controversy of any other party. The foregoing shall not preclude ASUCLA from seeking any injunctive relief in State or Federal courts for protection of their respective intellectual property rights (including such rights of their respective licensors).
This Agreement, including all documents referenced herein, represents the entire understanding between us and any user of ASUCLA Benefits U with respect to ASUCLA Benefits U and supersedes any other agreements, statements or representations. Headings used in this Agreement are for reference only and shall not affect the meaning of any terms. Any user of any portion of ASUCLA Benefits U is deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
We may change the terms of this Agreement at any time without notice or liability by posting a revised Agreement on the ASUCLA Benefits U website located at www.asucla.ucla.edu/benefitsu. Any change shall take effect immediately, unless otherwise provided. You may view the current version of this Agreement at any time online atwww.asucla.ucla.edu/benefitsu. You may also obtain a copy at any ASUCLA location or by calling 310.825.8011. This Agreement was last modified on August 15, 2016.
Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) values its Members and is committed to responsible practices in handling customer information. We do not sell or rent any of the information you provide to us. Please see the FAQ’s below for additional information regarding our privacy practices.
Please note that the following policy includes all business conducted with ASUCLA Benefits U and asucla.ucla.edu. We maintain both ASUCLA Benefits U database and the ASUCLA website and protect the information you provide as described below.
What kind of information do ASUCLA Benefits U and asucla.ucla.edu collect?
We collect information you provide (i.e. name, e-mail address, BruinCard number) when you sign up. We also collect click-stream information including the URL of the site that you came from before visiting our site, which browser you are using to view our site, and the email service provider you use to receive ASUCLA Benefits U emails.
How do ASUCLA Benefits U and asucla.ucla.edu use my information?
We use the email you provide to send you ASUCLA Benefits U emails.
Our server also automatically collects information on the URL, or web address, of the site that you came from before visiting ours, and what browser you are using to view our site. This information is helpful to us so that we may understand how visitors use our site.
Does ASUCLA Benefits U or asucla.ucla.edu share my information with third parties?
All of your information collected is strictly kept within our databases. We do not authorize any third parties, including any UCLA-affiliated group, access to your information. It is used solely for the purpose of sending ASUCLA Benefits U emails.
Should you choose to subscribe to any of our e-mail lists, your information is also kept strictly within our organization.
How can I update or change my information?
You can click on the “unsubscribe” link found at the bottom of every email. This link will take you to a page where you can manage your subscription preferences including changing your subscription email address or unsubscribing from any email list.
If you subscribed to our e-mail lists and decide you would prefer not to receive our promotional e-mails, you can be removed from our list by clicking “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any e-mail sent to you from us.
